Mechanical Animal: PS3 Injustice: Gods Among Us

From the creators of Mortal Kombat, Injustice: Gods Among Us is a fighting game based upon characters from the DC Universe. One-on-one combat on a two dimensional platform but rendered in a three dimensional fashion, this game throws one helluva punch.  Cinematic style story mode to knocking your opponent through skyscrapers and rooftops, play with some of the greatest superheroes and villains of all time with all their spectacular powers and personality traits.

While you may know the storyline of all your fav DC Universe characters the game does have a twist with Batman and Lex Luthor collaborating against Superman to Batman rescuing Batman!?! and just on whose side is Catwoman? How is it possible that Catwoman can scratch Superman's face off and why is Solomon Grundy reciting poetry for Green Lantern?

Excellent fighting sequences but the game is not just a clash off of superpowers since their all almost equivalent in strength (Story mode reveals why...) you're actually gonna have to learn a few combination tactics.  But that's all okay since there is a little tutorial for beginners.  The game features clash offs where you can challenge an opponent to a duel of the mightiest.  Transitional stage levels adds some packs to the punches.  Smack your opponent through the walls of the Wayne Manor courtyard into his dining room or throw him/her into a cell block with the scarecrow and you're just asking for nightmares. Fill up your meter to supe up your kicks or to go into a Super mode and  you can call for the Batmobile to help knock your opponent of screen or Aquaman sharks to gnaw at you.  The background platforms are also interactive whether you're swinging off chandeliers, launching rockets from the batmobile or slamming your opponent on a fountain back and fourth.  To just give the game a little more edge you get taught with some of your favourite super hero lines and have a little fun with no playable background characters like Gorilla Grodd and Killer Croc or Two Face.

DLC characters and additional costumes and even Scorpion, originally from the Mortal Kombat Series can be purchased. The game also has unlockables and mini games.  Check out the bonus material for the latest trailer on a DC animated movie.

Little Foxx on the BIG BOX

Justice League: New Frontier

A paint brush stretches across the screen with narration from a deep dark voice explaining  that it had witnessed evolution on earth and wishes to eradicate mankind because of it's capacity for violence and destruction.  The sound of a gunshot rings through the air and blood flashes across the pages.

We are first introduced to the United States Air Force pilot Hal Jordan whom, after a follow up of events comes into contact with an alien being known as Abin Sur.  Abin Sur warns Hal of a monstrous creature known as The Centre that seeks to destroy the human species.  Hal is given a green power ring which is considered to be the world greatest weapon.  This ring possesses the power of will.  Hal becomes the next Green Lantern and with his cosmic power is able to manifest anything left to the strength of his imagination.

At Gotham Observatory, scientist Dr. Saul Erdel inadvertently teleports a green alien being.  It is later revealed that this alien is the last surviving Green Martian of his race.  Unable to return to Mars, The Martian also known as J'onn J'onzz, who has the ability to shape shift takes on the identity of Dr. Saul who had died from a heart attack. J'onn J'onzz later plays a role as the Superhero widely known as the Martian Manhunter and helps earths heroes to defend themselves from the Centre.

The all star American hero Superman appears in confrontation with Wonder Woman. The two don't see eye to eye at first.  Superman who seems to follow the all American way sticks to the rules while Wonder Woman on the other hand seems to stand tall, and like a goddess and takes matters into her own hands.  The Flash on the other side of things is being targeted by government agents in order to learn the secret of his powers. Batman is considered to be a masked vigilante who is investing the doomsday cult that worships The Centre.

The Centre finally makes an appearance as an island and is protected by mutant dinosaurs that start to attack earth.  The Superheroes and soldiers are left to put their differences aside and work together to stop this common threat.

The art work  projects a 50s era with a good set of voice overs. The New Frontier was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming One Hour Or More) in 2008.  Each character is able to contribute equally and meaningfully with the traits they possesses, proving no matter how big or small or powerful ever Justice League member is a necessary element in insuring humanities survival.

The movies ends beautifully with the John F Kennedy Speech and we see the formation of the Justice League.

The film was written by Stan Berkowitz and the story and visual consultant was Darwyn Cooke.

Foxx on the Boxx

Tv Shows that are currently on my list:

Orphan Black.

Smear some good "suicide and other comforts" for an opening scene but give it a little "Bizzaro" complex, and I was hooked.  The show kicks off with a young girl, Sarah Manning, at a train station where she witnesses a suicide (Elizabeth (Beth) Childs) but strangely enough the girl is identical to her...

Sarah decides to assume the identity of  Beth hoping to cash in on Beths fortune to start a new life with her daughter.  The series then unfolds when Sarah realises she is one of several clones. However someone is killing off the clones one by one.  The show is a crystal bead reflecting on moral implications of cloning and it's effect on personal identity.

Take a small portion of the "American Horror Story" or something brewing in a JJ Abrams series pot add a by far improved version of  "Hostages" and stir with a similar suspense of "Revenge" without the soapie demeanour and you've got yourself one helluva show.

To add some icing on this cake you need a little bit of humour which is captured brilliantly with Sarahs foster brother Felix and then there's Alison who has a little bit of a "Desperate Housewives" drama going on.  To come full circle you have the ever so steamy Paul...

Created by screenwriter Graeme Manson and director John Fawcett, starring Tatiana Maslany

Part 7: Party Monster

In high school I had made three new best friends but got particularly close to one.  Little did I know I would be living with this buddy of mine.  I couldn't afford much and travelling was too tiring so I agreed to share rent in a space that meant I would not have my own room.  I crashed in the lounge and since I didn't sleep much in the first place I didn't see a problem with this.  Most of all I needed to be in Durban and away from ST. ANGER. I shared a place with my best buddy, his flatmate and a girl that he battled to get along with.

My best buddy and I got along just fine.  Sharing high school memories, being nerds, superhero fan boys to shout out reaction quotes to particular happenings around us, we were great together, we were the "Dude Where's My Car, The Harold and Kumar goes to White Castle," boys.

Then there was the girl, who later became known as, "she whose name cannot be mentioned."  Now mouse and her did not get along at all.  Being in the dark about the history of her character, little was revealed at a time.  Eventually she moved out before I could comprehend the full force of her character. (We played around with binding and banishing evil spells, perhaps this was the reason).  It concerned me little though since a whole new adventure was about to unfold.

In the first place I lived - "The Hot City Apartment," I discovered my first gay boy infatuation, the nightclub atmosphere of the notorious 330 on point, which came with the discovery of the world of ecstasy.  Falling in supposedly love, being high, sensual hot body massages of glistening sweaty bodies and vibrating bass surging through your entire being while on this little pill that I had once thought I would never touch.

Cleaning up my act and moving away from the world of drugs and forming little fantasies with straight college boys that I would smile sweetly and speak softly too with hopes of the pages turning and unfolding into a Mills and Boon Novel. Yeah right!!! it never happened but I had to believe that in a college filled with students surely there had to be other boys waiting to embrace romance.  I mean the club and drugs certainly lead to nothing but blurry lines of disappointments.  But alas, nothing came of it.  Now I found myself in a whole new area.  Redefinition of my character since I was more experienced and now in a place of somewhat freedom to embrace the ball of trapped energy that lay dormant.

I became a fully fledged Goth.  The make-up, the jewellery and the accessories and next to find the avenue to express the sub-culture.  It all happened one gloomy night whilst walking down a dark path, (It was actually brightly lit with street lights and crowds of people), a strange but fascinating girl dressed in a Kimono looked up at me and said, "I think you belong in here..."

Miraculous Phenomenon Of Life Responses Practising Roy's Theories.

One of my hobbies is to collect DVDs. A friend of mine decided to drop by and return some borrowed discs.  I cleaned my home and invited him for a cup of coffee. At a certain time I had scheduled a hair appointment for a long over due haircut.  My friends advice was too take a walk to the salon which is up the road rather than wasting cash by calling a taxi.  Taking his advice I got a life response, when a manager and friend of mine had seen me walking up the road and was busy collecting her thoughts of hiring someone for the upstairs venue, decided I would be perfect for the job.

The things that come into play is that in Roy's book he mentions how cleaning can attract work.  I had cleaned my home before my buddy came by to drop of the movies.  The other response I had invoked was using Roy's principal of collecting all debts owed to you in his law of attraction of money, I applied this to my DVD collection. My collection tends to stagnate because people never seem to return them.  Once I cleaned , attracting work,  called my friend to drop of the DVDs, collecting what is owed to me and then taking his advice and point of view I had gotten a life response.  Other attributes that come into play is neatening one's image creates abundance (haircut).  The aspiration that I needed to get out of my old job, and my journey to the salon was decided upon the need to feel happier and more positive since I wasn't feeling that great. Getting a new look and hair cut always makes one feel excited.

Perhaps it's a silly example but on a deeper level the connection of the dots of me walking down the road at the same time while the manager was thinking of hiring is stunning!!!!

Q7: True Love - Karmayogi

"True romance never dies or diminishes.  Rather it grows in charm with the passing years. Only that which pretends to be romance can die." - Karmayogi

Interlude (Part 6.1)

Okay, so from the haunted room with creaky door handles, to the haunted house where things went bump in the dead of the night, to the hot in city-summer-apartment, to travelling back and forth, there was a little interlude moment to this Foxx's tracks.

During my college holidays I made some tracks to Greytown to earn some part time cash. The house I was staying at was one that I had stayed at before.  Here comes the strange bit...

The previous time I was there was a little family event.  So I had to crash in the lounge.  One night while laying on a mattress I notice a cloud of smoke in the dark.  Greytown can get pretty cold in winter so the lounge had a fireplace.  Now my first reaction was that the fire that was dead was giving of it's last breathe but that was an impossibility since it should have went straight up the chimney.  My second thought was that somehow the place had caught on fire!!!!

The light in the passage way was on so I thought lets shed some light on the situation.  The intriguing thing was that the smoke was swirling and forming shapes. I saw a wheel and I cannot remember the rest but perhaps a horse even, if I'm not mistaken.

I open the door just a little to let some light enter the room and smoke rushed away and vanished.  There was no smoke, no fire...nothing...

I wonder...

The Howling Foxx. Song 7

Everyday Is Like Sunday by Morrissey

This was the third song on Morrissey's debut album.

When I heard this song I immediately fell in a romance stupor with his warm, melancholic vocals.
Dreamy and depressing...

Morissey is a vegetarian, gay and the song themes on a coastal town.  Easily visible as to why this song resonates something in me.  I grew up in a small coastal town that I didn't enjoy very much.  But I like the song for more than just that. Morrissey handles the vocals brilliantly and the blending of words are like a soft paint brush running smoothly across a coarse canvas.

Tastes Like Chocolate Pt 3. DAN STEVENS

Tastes like Chocolate Pt 1.

DAN STEVENS

The Art Of Words Pt 7: Back & Forth

I had a dream
bound by chains
found a heart
turned to stone
the heart
brittle and dry
like roses
crushed between
my fingers
a reminiscent scent
left behind
the chains
that set me free
in reality
were no longer there
chaos
in my head
I found a heart
clenched
held it tight
spooky shadows
in the darkest
nights
slipped through my fingers
no more
in my head
in my mind
in my dreams
in a dream
nothing was there
in my dream
in a fantasy
I found a heart
It was gone
In my mind
awake
in a dream
in my fantasy
in a reality
chaos
gone

Another that I had written awhile back...
This poem reads from top to bottom and bottom to top.

The Re(A)d Foxx: The Miraculous Phenomenon of Life Responses by Roy Posner.

"All of us can recall some inexplicably wondrous moment in our lives when circumstances seemed to miraculously conspire for our advantage." – Garry Jacobs (author of The Vital Corporation on Roy Posners book The Miraculous Phenomenon of Life Responses.)

A friend of mine asked me to check out a site: www.gurusoftware.com/GuruNet/Start.htm‎
On the site I found a free downloadable PDF book that helped me tremendously through the walk of life. I began understanding so many little key aspects that turned the cog wheels to set things in motion. I've always felt the under current of things, little patterns and connections, but never truly understood why and how come they work the way they did.  This book explained it all.  This was the start to my new life or new existence rather.

"Life Response explains in crystal clear terms the true nature of our relationship with the world around us. It depicts life as a mirror. It tells us of the precise one-to-one correspondences between our inner consciousness and events in the world around us. It presents us with the secret code needed to decipher these correspondences. But even more importantly, it presents us with a set of inner keys for mastery over outer life -- it provides us with the remarkable knowledge of how to make life respond." –Garry Jacobs (author of The Vital Corporation on Roy Posners book The Miraculous Phenomenon of Life Responses.)

The book speaks of how a change in consciousness can attract abundance.  Pretty much positive science but a lot easier to work with and understand.  Events such as cleaning your fridge to get more work and the subtle mechanics of how these two attributes are linked and can create a movement to our advantage.

It explains how the outside world, we perceive, is a reflection of something going on inside of us.  When we master our internal working we can change the outside conditions, an inner - outer correspondence.  This ultimately concludes there is a oneness to life between the outside world and our inner workings.

"...a shift in the “spin” of an electron of an atom can instantly affect the spin of another electron of that same atom even if the two particles are on opposite sides of the world -- or the other end of the galaxy! " - Roy Posner.

According to Posner this is also true for non-material things including variations and fluctuations in our feelings, emotions, attitudes, thoughts, and beliefs.

So if a change in attitude can create a response from the outside world what is it that causes this movement to occur in the first place?

When an individual initiates a response this generates a certain amount of energy.  There are four types of energy, physical, vital, mental and spiritual.

" Imagine that the energies we generate move out across a kind of cosmic highway -- a “web of life” if you will -- that correlates and coordinates related elements and circumstances along those pathways." - Roy Posner.

When we make changes in our consciousness we tap into this web of life.  This web is in a state of equilibrium.  Once disturbed in needs to revert to it's original state and hence a reaction occurs between our shift in consciousness and the outside world.

We can now say that making the right choice is an integral part of  our daily happenings but often this is easier said then done.

This book lays out four simple keys to use on how to make those cross road decisions. There are even methods to identify as practise in recognising these attributes through literature and film.

While there are no hard rules, the best choices are:
1. those that are helpful (over that which is uninvolved or harmful)
2. those that focus on the needs of others (over that which serves our own self- interest)
3. those that are positive and upbeat (over that which is negative and glum)
4. those that engender calm and patience (over that which is disturbed and impatient).

Sounds simple but check out his examples of real life occurrences and when you start practising you will notice how often we never consider this method.  You have to give the book a read and start practising it to truly understand this method and you will realise it's not as ridiculous as it sounds.

The Daily Foxx: Yoga warm ups, exercise and meditation.

I don't have the time to gym and I've hit 30.  So I've need to start taking care of myself from now before I wake up one morning and look in the mirror and think what went wrong. Manual, physical labour takes it's toll especially when one works through the night till early hours of the morning. Jumping into bed, you wake up the next morning feeling as though you were crammed into a can that has an irregular shape.

Exercising helps me stay fit.  Sometimes supper takes place only after work finishes at 7am in the morning. At that hour you eat anything that is quick and easy to prepare.

Meditation. Being surrounded by people who have their own path and method of living, I need to centre myself.  My meditation includes writing repetitive positive statements, Jaap, which is calling upon the Divine's name repetitively using my Mala. (Rosary), and finally I sit in silence.  Silence takes away the noise pollution from everyday life and the effect it has on the mind.  The voices from the mind are very contaminated by the daily occurrences and we are unable to hear our one true voice, the voice that speaks from the heart. I end of with consecration of the events to happen, sometimes my troubles, the future, past and present.

I've decided to include drinking Molasses and a vitamin supplement.  My eating patterns need to be improved desperately.

I follow a vegetarian diet. I've decided I don't want to spill the blood of an animal when it's not necessary. Been a vegetarian since the end of 1998.

My List Of Quotes from 2011 - 2013

Quote 6. Life Responses

"Our outward happenings have their seed within, And even this random Fate that imitates Chance,
This mass of unintelligible results,
Are the dumb graph of truths that work unseen:
The laws of the Unknown create the known.”

It's A Family Affair (Part 5)

So here I was in someone else's home. The girl I lived with was cool. But after awhile things grew a bit uncomfortable.

Her parents were starting to figure out that she was a Lesbian.  She went into panic and wanted me to pretend to have some interest in her to keep things running smooth. Of course I didn't agree and after a short period her parents had figured I was gay too.  She was in hot water though because they were trying to get her involved with a guy that she would have to eventually marry.

My attention had been diverted though.  Some cash went missing and it was kind of hinted that it was me who had done the deed.  Short while later I had moved out because the discomfort had grown a bit too much at this point.  Which lead me to my next living environment.

I had moved in with my best friend from school.

Borderline (Part 4)

Travelling got really tiring.  I would get home too late in the night and have projects to work on and have to get up really early to make it on time for the lift club.  The vampires had gotten to me and sucked the life out.

On campus I met a couple.  A lesbian couple. I was intrigued by their love for each other and by this point my fantasy that the city would have had romance to offer by now had turned into a fading light. I wasn't meeting that many gay people so nothing much was happening in that department of my life.  The girl looked a bit like an Indian version of Buffy the vampire slayer.  I just had to start a small conversation or say something...

This then lead to a friendship and eventually I was being offered a room to board.  My excitement grew but my main focus was the hand that held the brush.  Since love had lied to me I consumed my heart with the love of creativity and with all the battles of not being able to afford things my graphic design studies had already suffered well enough.  Being tired on top of all the worries was not helping with the wrought iron gates to the Tertiary education world.

So back in the Hot City and living in a very residential area I began the next chapter of my journey....

from the haunted room, to the haunted house...oh and i forgot to mention that I also moved to another farm town for a short period to do a bit of admin work, to a city apartment and back on the road travelling to and from...to eventually landing a little room in a little residential area.

My time there had some highlighted moments but in my blood I knew it wasn't going to last long....

Hot In The City (Part 3)

From a haunted room to a haunted house to, "this little Foxx's." making his way to the city.

I had finished school and it was time for me to leave the hill and venture out into the world.  College here I come.

Moved to Durban and into the city. Shared a place with my cousin.

I remember one night I had thought to myself "I can't believe this is happening." I went through many struggles and things like getting a tertiary education was not really in my parents budget plan. Leaving home was very important to me. Not that I wasn't grateful to my parents or anything, but I was a very different little Foxx and my little home town was not going to cope with me. I was Indian, South African, gay and goth to name a few queer things. Leaving home was like a journey to explore myself and what the rest of the world had to offer that the old farm town didn't have. The sky was the limit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=PinBVYKQGeM

So here i was...on a mid summer night, sleeping in a tall city apartment at the top floor. It was really hot and humid in the tiny place, in the not so safe city. The windows were open and a gush of wind came through. The curtain danced with wind allowing flashes of blue light to come through from the near-by building lights of the Royal Hotel.  The city sang a low rumble song reminding me that it was alive, that there were places to go, things to do, faces to place identities too and who knew what else was to come.

I had made my way sure enough but like all shiny metals...they can rust with Durban salty sea breeze.  Things we're not working out between my cousin and I...my parents weren't paying the rent on time and things we're like a cat on a hot tin roof. I had also fallen for a guy that just couldn't do commitment and college was getting too costly and so I wasn't keeping up. The days grew darker and the summer was melting the butter that nobody refrigerated.

Creaky handles down the hallways of my bedroom, to a new home where things went bump at night to the city apartment and it was all slowly fading again, slipping from my hands like trying to catch smoke using my paws.

So i had to move out and did a bit of travelling to and from the farm town to the city everyday. Tiring!?! it sure was....but the tiredness was to lead me to my next home...

The House On The Haunted Hill (Part 2)

The new house was at the edge of the town on a hill with red bricks.  The house was bright and seemed very normal at the time.

Once we we're all settled and living comfortably it started to happen...

The curtain railings would creek as though something was walking on it.  It would only happen when people would be in the room and would talk. One night while cramming late night math homework after watching too much t.v., I turned off the radio in the adjacent kitchen which stayed on mostly through the day.  I started to hear a weird sound coming from the now turned off radio. Next the oven that had not worked in a long time started to make a strange tapping sound during the late hours of the night.  After that were the knocks on the door and footsteps in the ceiling.  A string of weird events and sounds continued for a long time.  Of course we always had rational excuses for what was happening but sometimes it just was too...  like Skully denying everything Moulder was saying in an episode of X Files. I mean after all the strange paranormal activity she was the one who looked a little nuts by denying that the truth was out there.  My brother  was still the one to suffer the most because he would often experience more than we or the general person in the house would experience.  Shadows constantly slipping past him.  The feeling of something sitting on his chest at night.  It was disturbing...My sister and I once had a little, almost burnt-like ring mark in the same places on our chests.

Our gardener would often find strange things in the yard. Pieces of crocodile legs, coins wrapped in red cloths, weird things wrapped in newspaper and so on...
