From the creators of Mortal Kombat, Injustice: Gods Among Us is a fighting game based upon characters from the DC Universe. One-on-one combat on a two dimensional platform but rendered in a three dimensional fashion, this game throws one helluva punch. Cinematic style story mode to knocking your opponent through skyscrapers and rooftops, play with some of the greatest superheroes and villains of all time with all their spectacular powers and personality traits.
While you may know the storyline of all your fav DC Universe characters the game does have a twist with Batman and Lex Luthor collaborating against Superman to Batman rescuing Batman!?! and just on whose side is Catwoman? How is it possible that Catwoman can scratch Superman's face off and why is Solomon Grundy reciting poetry for Green Lantern?
Excellent fighting sequences but the game is not just a clash off of superpowers since their all almost equivalent in strength (Story mode reveals why...) you're actually gonna have to learn a few combination tactics. But that's all okay since there is a little tutorial for beginners. The game features clash offs where you can challenge an opponent to a duel of the mightiest. Transitional stage levels adds some packs to the punches. Smack your opponent through the walls of the Wayne Manor courtyard into his dining room or throw him/her into a cell block with the scarecrow and you're just asking for nightmares. Fill up your meter to supe up your kicks or to go into a Super mode and you can call for the Batmobile to help knock your opponent of screen or Aquaman sharks to gnaw at you. The background platforms are also interactive whether you're swinging off chandeliers, launching rockets from the batmobile or slamming your opponent on a fountain back and fourth. To just give the game a little more edge you get taught with some of your favourite super hero lines and have a little fun with no playable background characters like Gorilla Grodd and Killer Croc or Two Face.
DLC characters and additional costumes and even Scorpion, originally from the Mortal Kombat Series can be purchased. The game also has unlockables and mini games. Check out the bonus material for the latest trailer on a DC animated movie.
