I haven't practised this one yet...
If there is a habit you wish to break eg. smoking, eating too much...etc all you need to do is ask yourself what is the secret benefit of keeping the habit going? What are the benefits...
Now all you have to think about is how else can you get those benefits?
Set a date when you start implementing your new way of getting those old benefits :)
Don't know how well this works but worth a shot I guess.
