Little Foxx on the BIG BOX

Justice League: New Frontier

A paint brush stretches across the screen with narration from a deep dark voice explaining  that it had witnessed evolution on earth and wishes to eradicate mankind because of it's capacity for violence and destruction.  The sound of a gunshot rings through the air and blood flashes across the pages.

We are first introduced to the United States Air Force pilot Hal Jordan whom, after a follow up of events comes into contact with an alien being known as Abin Sur.  Abin Sur warns Hal of a monstrous creature known as The Centre that seeks to destroy the human species.  Hal is given a green power ring which is considered to be the world greatest weapon.  This ring possesses the power of will.  Hal becomes the next Green Lantern and with his cosmic power is able to manifest anything left to the strength of his imagination.

At Gotham Observatory, scientist Dr. Saul Erdel inadvertently teleports a green alien being.  It is later revealed that this alien is the last surviving Green Martian of his race.  Unable to return to Mars, The Martian also known as J'onn J'onzz, who has the ability to shape shift takes on the identity of Dr. Saul who had died from a heart attack. J'onn J'onzz later plays a role as the Superhero widely known as the Martian Manhunter and helps earths heroes to defend themselves from the Centre.

The all star American hero Superman appears in confrontation with Wonder Woman. The two don't see eye to eye at first.  Superman who seems to follow the all American way sticks to the rules while Wonder Woman on the other hand seems to stand tall, and like a goddess and takes matters into her own hands.  The Flash on the other side of things is being targeted by government agents in order to learn the secret of his powers. Batman is considered to be a masked vigilante who is investing the doomsday cult that worships The Centre.

The Centre finally makes an appearance as an island and is protected by mutant dinosaurs that start to attack earth.  The Superheroes and soldiers are left to put their differences aside and work together to stop this common threat.

The art work  projects a 50s era with a good set of voice overs. The New Frontier was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming One Hour Or More) in 2008.  Each character is able to contribute equally and meaningfully with the traits they possesses, proving no matter how big or small or powerful ever Justice League member is a necessary element in insuring humanities survival.

The movies ends beautifully with the John F Kennedy Speech and we see the formation of the Justice League.

The film was written by Stan Berkowitz and the story and visual consultant was Darwyn Cooke.

Foxx on the Boxx

Tv Shows that are currently on my list:

Orphan Black.

Smear some good "suicide and other comforts" for an opening scene but give it a little "Bizzaro" complex, and I was hooked.  The show kicks off with a young girl, Sarah Manning, at a train station where she witnesses a suicide (Elizabeth (Beth) Childs) but strangely enough the girl is identical to her...

Sarah decides to assume the identity of  Beth hoping to cash in on Beths fortune to start a new life with her daughter.  The series then unfolds when Sarah realises she is one of several clones. However someone is killing off the clones one by one.  The show is a crystal bead reflecting on moral implications of cloning and it's effect on personal identity.

Take a small portion of the "American Horror Story" or something brewing in a JJ Abrams series pot add a by far improved version of  "Hostages" and stir with a similar suspense of "Revenge" without the soapie demeanour and you've got yourself one helluva show.

To add some icing on this cake you need a little bit of humour which is captured brilliantly with Sarahs foster brother Felix and then there's Alison who has a little bit of a "Desperate Housewives" drama going on.  To come full circle you have the ever so steamy Paul...

Created by screenwriter Graeme Manson and director John Fawcett, starring Tatiana Maslany

Part 7: Party Monster

In high school I had made three new best friends but got particularly close to one.  Little did I know I would be living with this buddy of mine.  I couldn't afford much and travelling was too tiring so I agreed to share rent in a space that meant I would not have my own room.  I crashed in the lounge and since I didn't sleep much in the first place I didn't see a problem with this.  Most of all I needed to be in Durban and away from ST. ANGER. I shared a place with my best buddy, his flatmate and a girl that he battled to get along with.

My best buddy and I got along just fine.  Sharing high school memories, being nerds, superhero fan boys to shout out reaction quotes to particular happenings around us, we were great together, we were the "Dude Where's My Car, The Harold and Kumar goes to White Castle," boys.

Then there was the girl, who later became known as, "she whose name cannot be mentioned."  Now mouse and her did not get along at all.  Being in the dark about the history of her character, little was revealed at a time.  Eventually she moved out before I could comprehend the full force of her character. (We played around with binding and banishing evil spells, perhaps this was the reason).  It concerned me little though since a whole new adventure was about to unfold.

In the first place I lived - "The Hot City Apartment," I discovered my first gay boy infatuation, the nightclub atmosphere of the notorious 330 on point, which came with the discovery of the world of ecstasy.  Falling in supposedly love, being high, sensual hot body massages of glistening sweaty bodies and vibrating bass surging through your entire being while on this little pill that I had once thought I would never touch.

Cleaning up my act and moving away from the world of drugs and forming little fantasies with straight college boys that I would smile sweetly and speak softly too with hopes of the pages turning and unfolding into a Mills and Boon Novel. Yeah right!!! it never happened but I had to believe that in a college filled with students surely there had to be other boys waiting to embrace romance.  I mean the club and drugs certainly lead to nothing but blurry lines of disappointments.  But alas, nothing came of it.  Now I found myself in a whole new area.  Redefinition of my character since I was more experienced and now in a place of somewhat freedom to embrace the ball of trapped energy that lay dormant.

I became a fully fledged Goth.  The make-up, the jewellery and the accessories and next to find the avenue to express the sub-culture.  It all happened one gloomy night whilst walking down a dark path, (It was actually brightly lit with street lights and crowds of people), a strange but fascinating girl dressed in a Kimono looked up at me and said, "I think you belong in here..."

To be continued...

Miraculous Phenomenon Of Life Responses Practising Roy's Theories.

One of my hobbies is to collect DVDs. A friend of mine decided to drop by and return some borrowed discs.  I cleaned my home and invited him for a cup of coffee. At a certain time I had scheduled a hair appointment for a long over due haircut.  My friends advice was too take a walk to the salon which is up the road rather than wasting cash by calling a taxi.  Taking his advice I got a life response, when a manager and friend of mine had seen me walking up the road and was busy collecting her thoughts of hiring someone for the upstairs venue, decided I would be perfect for the job.

The things that come into play is that in Roy's book he mentions how cleaning can attract work.  I had cleaned my home before my buddy came by to drop of the movies.  The other response I had invoked was using Roy's principal of collecting all debts owed to you in his law of attraction of money, I applied this to my DVD collection. My collection tends to stagnate because people never seem to return them.  Once I cleaned , attracting work,  called my friend to drop of the DVDs, collecting what is owed to me and then taking his advice and point of view I had gotten a life response.  Other attributes that come into play is neatening one's image creates abundance (haircut).  The aspiration that I needed to get out of my old job, and my journey to the salon was decided upon the need to feel happier and more positive since I wasn't feeling that great. Getting a new look and hair cut always makes one feel excited.

Perhaps it's a silly example but on a deeper level the connection of the dots of me walking down the road at the same time while the manager was thinking of hiring is stunning!!!!
