Foxx Tracks...

Sometime in 2007 I posted one of my dreams on Facebook notes.  FBK notes was sort of a little blogspot at the time. I used to have really odd dreams. Well I still do but it was veeeeeerrrry weird back in the day.

"I have had yet another strange dream...

I was running down this drive through when i realised that my boss was on his way.  My thoughts were to quit fooling around and get back into routine.

Suddenly I appeared in this room or was it an office...not sure...but i was having a conversation with a girl who wore bubbles on he eyes.  Very odd.

Next thing I know I'm outside and there is this huge rat and it was eating this chicken whole.  There were other roosters around and I could hear their thoughts.  Turning around in fear, I see these horses and fouls running around in slow motion.  It was almost like a dance but the weird thing was that some of the horses were eating each other.

On my second glance I could see more animals like cubs and tigers and even humans.  They all moved in slow motion in a circular fashion.  Almost like a dance.  This dance somehow could be interpreted with notions of fear, sex and death.  All of this happened in a forest that was lush and green.

At the end of the dream there were these groups that had lay to rest.  Some of the groups contained a man and lady cuddled with a deer next to them.  Another had a tiger with these cubs etc."

The Little Foxx & the Imagination Factory: Paintings

I did this painting in 2003 with Gauche paints.  One of my first with this medium.

I had to do two mood boards, use two different
colours, reflecting two emotions.

The colours were obviously blue and red.

I then made a window using triplex board and
placed it on the two mood boards.

The mood boards were made from various
pictures which I cut out from magazines.

Using the cut out windows I selected two areas
from these mood boards and cut them out.  So
on my painting are two cut out pictures.

The face and top of her hair is a cut out from the mood board and a small portion of the vase is also a cut out.  I then had to link these two cut outs.

After watching the movie "The Ring" and enjoying some of the visuals I decided to use that as inspiration by painting more flowing hair that would reach toward the jar. I was strangely fascinated with eyes at that point and thought the iris and pupil had such astonishing detail so I painted a huge round eye and another at the top of the painting that reflected fear.  The red streaks that emit from the top eye was inspired by The Sandman novels and the artist of that graphic novel, Dave McKean.

M. C. Escher was another influence and checked floors seem to rule my mind and taste. So i used, somewhat of an optical illusion effect with the checkered pattern and ball as well as the partially invisible girl at the top with the blue face.

Ultimately i wasn't too pleased with the end result of it all but I had learnt a lot and it was loads of fun.

Q5 Daffy Duck Inspires

Woo-hoo! whoo-hoo! whoo-hoo!

This is insane quote is by the famous, vigilante, lunatic duck, Daffy Duck.

Nothing truly expresses, "I'm totally insane, free, happy and I live in my own world so that makes me awesome", like this quote does!

Tex Avery created the original version of Daffy Duck in 1937.  The mighty duck established himself by jumping in the water, hopping around and yelling whoo-hoo! whoo-hoo! whoo-hoo!

Animator Bob Clampett immediately seized upon the Daffy Duck character and cast him in a series of cartoons in the 1930s and 1940s.

Daffy was something completely new to moviegoers.  He was assertive, completely unrestrained and combative protagonist.  Back in the day people where not accustomed to seeing a character do these things on screen.  People would leave the theatres talking about this Daffy duck.

Proof that being positive and happy may just make you are star!

Valentine's Day Part II

So here is the  Alternative Side to V-day.

The movie:  Edward Sissorhands
staring Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder

From the Imagination of  Tim Burton (Directed and Produced)

Once upon time in a castle high up on a hill, their lived a boy named Edward. Now Edward was no ordinary boy.  He was actually the invention of an imaginative man who died before he could complete him. Poor Edward was left with scissors for hands.  He was certainly strange but he also had an irresistible charm.  He lived alone  in the darkness until one day a kind Avon woman took him home to her family.  So Edward was about to discover a whole new world of people in a little town known as Suburbia.

You maybe wondering how does a boy with sharp shears of metal for hands, in a pastel little town, turn into a magical little tale of love and adventure.  This adventure does indeed turn into a magical journey of love in it's truest form...

I had watched this movie along time ago when my fasination for the extraordinary mind of Tim Burton seemed to have captivated me.  I simply enjoyed the dark,  twisted realms of almost every Tim Burton movie.  Years later i dusted out the cover of this dvd and decided to watch it again.  I was captivated once again but on a whole new more mature level than i orignally had.  i realised how truely heart warming this movie was.  It was almost a tale of Pinnochio meets Beauty and the Beast intertwined into a modern day fairytale but penetrating deep into the layers of your heart.

The unusual but gentle Edward is mesmerized by Winona Ryders character and falls deeply in love with her but never asks anything in return from her.  He protects her and admires her from a far.  The tale twists heavily until Edward realizes that he doesn't belong in this world and eventually leaves for his lonely dark castle once again for a chance to at least have peace.

Edward shows his love and affection for as long as he can.  His one true love will always know this since it always snows even in Summer.

Avril Lavigne "I'm With
You"

I'm standing on a bridge
I'm waiting in the dark
I thought that you'd be here by now
There's nothing but the rain
No footsteps on the ground
I'm listening but there's no sound

Isn't anyone tryin to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home
It's a damn cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you

I'm looking for a place
I'm searching for a face
Is anybody here I know
'Cause nothings going right
And every thing's a mess
And no one likes to be alone

Isn't anyone trying to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home
It's a damn cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you

Oh why is everything so confusing
Maybe I'm just out of my mind
Yeah-he-yaa, Yeah-he-yah, Yeah-he-yah, Yeah-he-yah, Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

It's a damn cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you

Take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you

Take me by the hand
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I... I'm with you
I'm with you
I'm with you...

 Poem:    Lust/Love
Lustful love, I lust not
But I do lust after lust
and I have to admit
I'm scared for this lust
I may love!

Valentine's Day

Well I don't know much about Valentines Day cause I've never gotten the chance to celebrate it and it's not going to be much of a celebration this year either I guess.  So I compilied a little Bloggers Valentine's Celebration :)

The Ultimate Valentines Movie: Moulin Rouge

Directed, produced and co-written by Baz Luhrmann
Starring Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor

A passion filled British poet who has an obsession with love decides to write about love.  Only one problem...he has never been in love... until he meets the breathtaking, terminally-ill star of the Moulin Rouge cabaret actress and courtesan Satine.

The movie takes you into a powerful musical, with a quick pace, extraordinary performances and brilliant choreography.  Spectacular sets with an almost fairytale-like scenery's, this love story takes you on a journey of what true love is about.

Kicking off with unrequited, infatuation, courting where the
courtesan mistaken the identity of the poet for a duke.  Pretending to love him as part of role as a courtesan while the poet slowly slips into bewilderment.  Soon after the discovery of mistaken identity the poet knows that this is what he had always dreamt off.
With an amazing performance on the top of an Elephant shaped room Satine tries to explain that a girl like her never falls in love but reveals her hopes to one day leave this life of hers.

The poet, however has a different point of view.  "...I hope you don't mind that I put down in words...how wonderful life is now that you're in the world."

Personally I have not quite been too lucky in love, but I know that when you do love someone, and I have loved, the world suddenly becomes more beautiful than you have ever bothered to notice.  Everything suddenly seems great and almost nothing can bring you down.  It's like an enchantment and life is a magical journey.

"The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love and be loved."

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen
This song is featured in the movie but sang by Ewan McGregor.  The way in which he sings it is just amazing and leaves you with this weird sensation that this is how you're going to feel when it happens to you.
Another song that appealed to me when i was younger was
Angel Eyes by Ace of Base

I know that I'm not the first one
You had love in your path before me
But when your lips touched my lips
It felt like I was kissing destiny

Angel eyes with your angel eyes
Will you always be there to hold me
Angel eyes I'm satisfied
I don't want to hear your story
'Cause I can see the things
I really want to see
I'm in love
I believe in what I'm feeling
I'd give everything up just for you
Love is devoted to those who see
That the last dance, you dance with the truth
Angel eyes with your angel eyes
Will you always be there to hold me
Angel eyes I'm satisfied
I don't want to hear your story
'Cause I can see the things
I really want to see
In your eyes
Angel eyes just want you here to hold me
Angel eyes

I think the lyrics are true, there is always something about someone's eyes that tell their story.  When you're in love you can see everything they are to you just by looking at them and into their eyes.  It's always fireworks when they hold you!

The greatest thing I have ever read or learned about love comes from a website:
romanceeternal.org

True romance never dies or diminishes. Rather it grows in charm with the passing years. Only that which pretends to be romance can die.
